Summit Values
Our community depends on well-functioning citizen-led institutions. These institutions are at risk from rising polarization and a corresponding decline in focus on good governance, planning, and execution. We are also at risk from outside interference that can undermine public safety and local control of our schools and libraries.
Make Summit more affordable
Let's focus on needs versus wants, stop the gold-plating of municipal projects, and prepare for risks on the horizon through zero-based budgeting and robust multi-year planning, while defending Summit's AAA credit rating.
Practical approaches to tough problems
Strong citizen-led local government made Summit the town we love. Now we need to defend Summit from showboat politics that inflame passions but are short on solutions.
Protect kids and families
We need to ensure that Summit continues to attract and retain a top quality police force, a cornerstone of safety in our town. We also need to ensure we stay on the cutting edge of technology to prevent crime and pursue the criminals.
Seniors and empty-nesters
Cost is driving empty-nesters and seniors out of Summit. Reducing unnecessary costs is the best way to keep our community together. In addition, better coordination of services can help seniors stay in their homes of choice.
